On Thursday, we meet to work on open source together. The conference talks will take place on Friday. On Saturday, we hang out around Zurich.
Thursday, 16th May 2024
We've booked a room in the Colab co-working space for community members to gather and work together on open source. Some ideas:
- showcase a library you've been working on,
- talk about features you'd like to see in a library or framework,
- collaborate on a bug report,
- improve documentation,
- hang out with like-minded individuals even if you don't have an idea what to work on in advance.
The open source office hours are also an opportunity to meet maintainers from the Ruby ecosystem in person. Ask questions, discuss new ideas, fix bugs together.

We leave the venue and head to bars and restaurants
Saturday, 18th May 2024
Join us for some optional activities if you're still in Zurich on Saturday.
If the weather is nice, we will hike from Triemli to the peak of Uetliberg. You can also get up there by train.
Start hiking
Meeting point: the S10 train stop Zürich Triemli. You can get on the S10 train from track 22 of the Zurich main station.
Arrival at the Uetliberg peak
If you don't want to hike up, you can take the S10 train all the way up to the Uetliberg terminus stop.
Depending on the group's wishes, we can then hang out at one of the restaurants at the top or walk along the ridge. Finally, we'll take the train back to Zurich in the early afternoon.
The train going back from Uetliberg to the city departs every 20 minutes.
